VICTOR CHURCHILL DUCK RILETTES

Available year round

Victor Churchill is a sub brand of Anthony Puharich's Vic's Meats. For their Duck Rillette they have used free-range duck breast, pork belly, duck fat seasoned with four spices, thyme, bay leaves, garlic, pink salt & pepper. The mixture is then cooked for up to ten hours until the meat is tender and buttery.

The rich creamy blend of spices and delicate duck meat make this French classic irresistible. In 200g portions, it shoudl be good for four of you on a charcuterie board, unless you are inviting us. If so, hold my Cardonnay Sharon, and fetch me a cracker.

POWERHOUSE CHEESE WHITEHORSE WHITE

Year round

Made in inner suburban Melbourne, from milk from a Fresian herd in Gippsland, this little collection of cheeses is hand made and, pardon the pun, udderly delicious. The Whitehorse White is a camembert style, with some fluffy soft white mould and a rich creamy texture.

One of our Scoffers simply described it as 'Heaven" and managed to scoff the entire portion. Find them at Farmers Markets  and check out their other options, all hand made by two powerhouse women in Blackburn or order online.

LARD ASS BLACK GARLIC BUTTER

Year round

Made on Victoria's Great Ocean Road, Lard Ass was founded by a dairy farmer’s daughter who grew up in Western Victoria surrounded by the creamy goodness of fresh milk and churned butter.

Forget truffle butter. Black garlic is the new truffle. Sweet and earthy minus the garlic kick in the head yet umami-packed with notes of balsamic vinegar and caramelised onion-like flavours wrapped in butteriness. Perfect with meat and vegetables. Great on potatoes. Add to soups on smear over sourdough. We dropped a lump on a seared scotch fillet steak. Yum
