In a world awash with fizzy mediocrity, where the term Méthode Traditionnelle is often misused, Mt Coghill Vineyard's 2022 Madam Pommy stands out as an affordable option for those who like their bubbles French and expensive. Lets face it, this cost of living crisis bites and occasionally, we have to ditch the posh stuff for something a little more fiscally approachable. Crafted from single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, this sparkling wine is a testament to meticulous winemaking and the unique terroir of Coghills Creek, near Ballarat in central Victoria.

Perched at 430 meters above sea level, Mt Coghill Vineyard benefits from its high altitude promoting long ripening seasons and natural acidity retention. The elevation imparts a crispness and vitality to Madam Pommy that is both invigorating and refined.
In an era where genuine craftsmanship is often overshadowed by mass production, Madam Pommy reaffirms the value of dedication and tradition. It's not just a sparkling wine. It's a statement, a celebration of quality, authenticity and the timeless allure of a proper méthode traditionnelle. Madam Pommy delights with a a very fine bead and a dry, zesty finish that lingers on the palate. Also lingering is a buttery, oaky chardonnay flavour which tells us as much about the making as it does the grapes. Madam Pommy's complexity and balance have not gone unnoticed, earning it a prestigious 94-point rating from the Halliday Wine Companion.
Established in 1993 in the chilly heightd of Coghills Creek, Mt Coghill Vineyard has cultivated a reputation for producing exceptional cool climate wines. The vineyard's inception saw the planting of 1,500 Pinot Noir rootlings in 1995, followed by 450 Chardonnay vines in 1996. Under the stewardship of Tracey and Adam Adamczyk since 2019, Mt Coghill Vineyard has continued to uphold its commitment to quality. The couple has embraced traditional viticultural practices, including hand-picking and small batch winemaking to ensure the integrity of their wines.
For those seeking a genuine cool-climate wine experience, Mt Coghill Vineyard offers a compelling narrative of tradition, terroir, and meticulous craftsmanship. Madam Pommy is exceptional for its price and well worth the wait for it to arrive direct from the vineyard.
